The six pillars for mental well-being
Today is #WorldHappinessDay! ???? A perfect occasion to think about what makes us sustainably happy and content.
Psychology professor Carol D. Ryff, a pioneer in the field of mental satisfaction, identified six central pillars for mental well-being back in 1989 ????
✅ Self-acceptance: Develop a positive attitude towards yourself and your biography. Meet your weaknesses with a good dose of self-compassion. Because nobody is perfect and that's a good thing!❤️
✅ Meaning in life: Give your life meaning by pursuing your dreams and goals. Meaningfulness arises when we connect with our values and use our talents for something bigger than ourselves.
✅ Autonomy: Find your own path and trust your inner compass. Autonomy means making self-determined decisions and taking responsibility for our happiness into our own hands.
✅Personal growth: Be curious and open to change. Every day offers us the opportunity to continuously develop and realize our potential.
✅Positive relationships: Surround yourself with people who strengthen, inspire and support you. Successful relationships and a sense of connection are the most important ingredients for happiness and health.
✅ Coping with everyday life: Feel like the director of your own life movie. It's all about taking on the challenges of our everyday lives and mastering them with a smile.
