About why our peer group is more than just a professional network
Five times a year, we pack our bags and meet up in the beautiful region of Palatinate, always from Friday to Saturday. These dates are a must in our calendars. And we put everything else aside for our peer meetings - because they are some of the most valuable moments of the year!
“Coincidence is what is due.” (Quote from Wolfram Jokisch)
It was probably due that we - Sonja Finn, Daniela Hintze-Nicolaus, Heike Schachtsiek, Henning Keber and Sabine Langrock - met in the fall of 2006 in the castle courtyard of isb GmbH Systemische Professionalität in the “Systemic Coaching and Team Development” curriculum. And what began 18 years ago as the systemic isb peer group has long since become so much more.
More than just peer counseling
Friday evening is all about us, a glass of wine (or two) and the stories that life has written since we last met. And on Saturday, we take the space that everyone needs.
We coach each other and supervise our professional concerns. We discover new methods, discuss exciting books and inspire each other under the guiding principle of “Good & New”. We share our knowledge and broaden our horizons. And we laugh and cry together. ❤️
In November, we take some extra time to pause and reflect - and occasionally invite guests who bring new perspectives (many thanks to Dörthe Verres, Thomas Stahl and alexander herr).
We are so much more than a professional peer group. We are companions, encouragers, friends and sometimes also soul comforters. And we are grateful that there really is enough space for everything here: Lightness and difficult moments, big visions and small worries.
Our “Talking Stone” - more than just a stone
Our “Talking Stone” is a special companion - a stone that has been with us almost from the beginning. It is not only a symbol of our bond, but also a kind of silent witness: it has celebrated our successes with us and accompanied our developments.
Why am I sharing all this with you?
Because after 18 years, I'm still amazed at how a “normal” training course could develop into such a great peer group that has accompanied me through all the ups and downs. What we have here is a priceless gift. Thank you Sonja, Daniela, Heike and Henning from the bottom of my heart for 18 years of trust, growth, friendship and shared power. Here's to the next 18!
